The report underscores Filtrona’s significant ESG achievements through Environmental Stewardship, Social Responsibility and Governance Excellence, with eight key success milestones:
Achieved Zero Waste To Landfill certification across 10 manufacturing sites.
Reduced net CO2 emissions by 29% in 2023 compared to 2022.
32% of energy used from renewable sources.
Expanded the ECO™ Range of plastic-free, biodegradable filters. Launched in 2020, the ECO™ Range continues to expand with upgraded products, including six innovative filters and six new utility model patents.
Improved gender diversity with 26% women representation in leadership roles.
Received the Ecovadis Bronze Award for sustainability efforts.
Implemented CSR initiatives at all sites to support local communities globally and improve societal well-being.
Refined processes to develop filters using non-woven alternatives, enabling higher biodegradability.
Environmental Stewardship
notable innovation featured in the report is the launch of Filtrona’s ECOTM Range which is plastic-free, has higher biodegradability and a carbon footprint four times lower than cellulose acetate filters. This product line has been upgraded with six innovative filters and six new utility model patents, showcasing Filtrona’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Filtrona’s refined processes develop filters using non-woven materials for faster biodegradation, contributing to environmental preservation.
Social Responsibility
Gender diversity is a priority at Filtrona, with women accounting for 26% of leadership roles, reflecting the organisation’s focus on inclusion and equal opportunity in the workplace.
Governance Excellence
Filtrona continues to ensure ethical business conduct through annual comprehensive compliance training and achieved 97% completion in 2023. An ESG Committee was also established to implement the organisation’s ESG policies and practices. Through Filtrona’s New Product Development process, we continue to expand our patent portfolio which currently stands at 640 patents.
