Filtrona, a global market leader in the design, testing and manufacture of specialty filter solutions, today announced the release of its 2024 Sustainability Report titled “Transforming Together for a Sustainable Tomorrow”. The report highlights Filtrona’s ESG progress and achievements through Environmental Stewardship, Social Responsibility and Governance Excellence,including the following key milestones:
- 35% use of renewable energy across global operations
- 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions
- All sites certified Zero Waste To Landfill
- All sites achieved Zero Lost Time Incidents
- Planted 2,424 mangrove trees in Thailand and Indonesia
- Empowered over 2,000 residents through community-driven initiatives focused on education, infrastructure development, healthcare services, and vocational training programmes
- All governance body members trained in anti-corruption policies
- Full compliance with ISO 45001 to better protect employees and improve occupational health and safety performance
- 100% wastewater treated in compliance with environmental standards

Environmental Stewardship
In 2024, Filtrona made significant strides to reduce its environmental impact. Solar roof panels have been installed at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Indonesia, India, and the United Arab Emirates, thereby reducing dependence on conventional energy sources. These installations complement the existing solar infrastructure at the manufacturing site in Thailand. The company also introduced a Net Zero Decarbonisation Plan aligned with global climate objectives and successfully achieved Zero Waste to Landfill across all its operations.
Social Responsibility
Filtrona made significant progress in 2024 with its social initiatives, and achieved zero Lost Time Incidents, maintaining a solid safety record across its global sites. In the past year, Filtrona focused on improving diversity and inclusion, introducing new policies to protect workers’ rights and promote fairness. It collaborated with non-profit organisations to support more than 2,000 residents of local communities in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and vocational training.
Governance Excellence
In 2024, Filtrona enhanced its governance system by launching a whistleblowing platform for employees to voice their concerns anonymously and rolled out an online training programme on the company’s code of ethics. Filtrona’s dedicated ESG committee held regular meetings to ensure that ESG remains an important focus at all levels of the business. The company was awarded an EcoVadis Gold Medal, underscoring its strong sustainability management system and commitment to responsible business.

To guarantee accuracy and reliability, the report was audited by SGS, a world-renowned certification body. The assurance process adheres to the AA1000 Type II Moderate Assurance standard and incorporates oversight from Filtrona’s ESG Committee, ensuring a rigorous and accountable reporting framework.
