Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the site production planning and supply planning activities, ensuring stable operations, optimal inventory levels, and reliable customer service performance. The role is critical to work with cross functional teams such as supply planning, production, procurement, supply planning, order management, customer support, commercial and so forth to balance demand, capacity, material availability and keep optimize inventory. In summary, supporting the site broader supply chain strategy including working with production to optimize output and meet customer requirements.

The successful incumbent must be able to work independently and experienced in balancing complex demand and supply environment with high requirement for agility.

  • Production Planning (primary scope #1) and Supply Planning (primary scope #2)
  • Own the end-to-end production planning, work with supply planning to convert demand (including customers/commercial insights) to master plan and then executable and most effective weekly and daily schedule.
  • Balance material supply, production capacity to ensure stable operations that meets customers requested delivery (OTIF1 and OTIF2).
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters that is committed by production in the determine table/ ERP (eg leadtime, safety stock, MOQ, cycle time, output/min, change part, etc).
  • Lead the daily SC DDS routines and be the connector between production DDS issue arise and impact to supply, including supporting supply planner in escalating supply impact and actions needed to factory/plant DDS.
  • Work with supply planning in leading the weekly SNOE, anticipating risks, proposed scenario plans and mitigation/recovery options. Escalating risk to supply to IBP processes.
  • Escalate CTS failure.
  • Inventory Management
  • Monitor and manage inventory level for RM, WIP/ baserod and finished goods including aging inventory controls.
  • Ensure inventory aligns with global supply chain directions and site targets.
  • Where necessary, lead root cause analysis for inventory variances and implement corrective actions including tracking onholds.
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives in collaboration with procurement, supply planning, production and warehouse.
  • Material availability & supply assurance
  • Work with supply planner and procurement to ensure the material availability for production planning.
  • Support material risk assessments and mitigation plans for critical or long-lead time items.
  • Work with supply planning, business planning managers and analyst to understand the demand trend including seasonality and abnormality. Translate this to optimize inventory strategy that will be able to support stable supply.
  • Collaboration with other functions
  • Work hand in hand with production leaders to ensure schedule adherence/ comply to schedule and smooth executions on shopfloor.
  • Adjust plans proactively during unexpected events while protecting customer commitment.
  • Ensure reliable on-time delivery (OTIF 1 and OTIF 2) through balanced planning and proactive risk management.
  • Support customer service with delivery commitment, re-scheduling decisions and root cause analysis of delayed orders.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in planning, scheduling and inventory processes and translate that into actionable improvement plan and initiatives.
  • Support digitization of planning tool, parameter governance and system discipline.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering or Business.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in production or supply planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and understand highly complex and volatile demand-supply environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, planning logics, capacity planning, and inventory. management.
  • Prior exposure to end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Analytical skills using excel, planning tools and data driven decision making.
