Since then, several successful product innovations have been added to the portfolio to offer even more sustainable alternatives that include being plastic-free and 100 percent biodegradable, with unique sensorial attributes and quality performance.
Ann Treadaway, Commercial Director, Americas, said “At Filtrona, our mission is to be a responsible, customer-focused innovation leader creating excellence in sustainable solutions for today and tomorrow. The higher degradability and non-plastic options in our ECO range are evidence of our commitment to environmental innovation and represent a true revolution in filter and tapes technology. Innovation is core to our and our customers’ business success and we look forward to showcasing these and other unique solutions at Total Product Expo.”
With sustainability high on the agenda of consumers and brand owners alike, Filtrona will be showcasing its latest sustainable filter and tapes innovations at TPE23:
ECO Bridge Filter– a fully sustainable filter developed as a component for both Heated Tobacco Products (HTP) and combustible cigarettes. For HTP, this filter allows the heatstick to achieve the desirable thermal profile, while maintaining the nicotine delivery due to its ultra-low retention feature. For Combustibles, ECO Bridge allows for the cigarette to achieve the targeted nicotine delivery, comparable to the non-biodegradable version.
ECO Hemp Filter–a sustainable filter made from hemp loaded paper material enclosed in a wrapper which allows an enhanced smoking experience.
ECO Tube™ Filter – a proprietary filter option to Filtrona’s Tube acetate, with paper layered into firm core and enclosed in a plugwrap.
Rippatape® Halo – Filtrona’s new, ground-breaking repulpable paper-based tapes solution –designed to rip through most grades of fluting and board allowing quick, easy and safe access to contents. This includes corrugated and fibreboard cartons, envelopes, paper sacks and e-commerce mailers.
SupaStrip® PCR–a 23micron, single-ply,PET solution which includes 70% post-consumer recycled content. A greener footprint to enhance brand loyalty and provide a positive, easy opening experience.
Filtrona’s industry knowledge helps manufacturers to exploit emerging trends, adapt to change and build strong brands. With strategically positioned manufacturing facilities around the world and technology and development centres working closely with material suppliers, research bodies and universities to assure the latest in filter technology and materials, Filtrona develops filters unique to a brand or blend.
